On May 18, Reuters was more than 7 minutes ahead of the competition with news that Brazilian drugstore chain Pague Menos agreed to acquire rival Extrafarma from industrial holding company Ultrapar for 700 million reais ($133.06 million).

Market Impact

Shares of Pague Menos jumped nearly 10% on news of the deal.
