Reuters first to report U.S. gas producer Gulfport Energy explores sale; market reacts

Reuters was first to report that the U.S. natural gas exploration and production company was exploring strategic options including a possible sale. The Oklahoma City-headquartered company, which has a market value of about $1.6 billion, is working with an investment bank on its options and to help solicit potential acquisition interest.

Market Impact

Gulfport Energy Corp shares rose as much as 12%.
