Reuters first with news of Prince Philip’s death

Reuters was the first media organization to report that Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth and a leading figure in the British royal family for almost seven decades, has died aged 99. Reuters was not only ahead of the competition on the alerts, but quickly moved the obituary as well as several packages of file photos and video, and a video of the relationship between him and the queen. Reuters was also the only agency to carry Boris Johnson’s tribute live (edit here).
