Reuters was first with the news that German media group Bertelsmann has approached potential bidders to sell its controlling stake in French broadcast firm M6 – home to France’s biggest private radio station RTL. French media giant Vivendi, telecoms firm Altice Europe and Italian broadcaster Mediaset were among those contacted by Bertelsmann over the M6 sale, sources told Reuters. The German firm has also reached out to M6’s French rival TF1 Group and Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky to test their interest in a possible deal that would mark its departure from France.
