Mick Jagger is for the Stones what Hunter S.Thompson was for the Rolling Stones magazine: a smart, provocative and charismatic influencer who was undoubtedly talented at engaging audiences.

A recent Digiday article pointed out how one publisher is turning to influencers for referral traffic. Influencers are perceived as experts when it comes to reaching and engaging audiences, which makes them a natural fit for publishers looking to capture and retain audiences.

Much has been written about the power, and possible pitfalls, of collaborating with influencers to create stand out content. Often, it is a win-win situation where publishers get to ‘bake’ distribution into the production process due to the extended reach of influential contributors. Additionally, many influencers have strong credibility with audience segments with which publishers may be looking to connect.

So, in celebration of the value and inspiration that talented tastemakers offer –– and in time for the Rolling Stones tour –– we dug deep into our archives to share some moments when Jagger & co. rocked the world.
