We exclusively reported that Canada is increasingly convinced that U.S. President Donald Trump will soon announce that the United States intends to pull out of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in late January, around the time when Canada, U.S. and Mexico are set to meet for the sixth round of negotiations.

Following the report, the Canadian dollar and Mexican peso dropped against the U.S. dollar while Mexican and Canadian ishares ETFs also fell.

In exclusive interview, Bode Miller says Shiffrin is the best he’s ever seen

We scored an exclusive interview with Olympic gold medallist and two-time world champion Bode Miller who said that Mikaela Shiffrin is the best alpine ski racer he has ever seen and that she could win a slew of medals for the U.S. at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Miller, the most decorated U.S. Olympic skier with six medals, believed that the 22-year-old could even equal his record tally next month at the Games in South Korea.

In Reuters photograph, Syrian man under rubble after an airstrike

Photographer Bassam Khabieh captured this powerful image of a man stuck under debris after an airstrike in Syria on Jan. 9.

Abu Abdallah was pulled out from under the rubble of his house near Damascus after it was blown up in an air raid. He was lucky to survive the bomb dropped by one of the countless warplanes that emergency workers say have pounded the rebel-held Syrian enclave of Eastern Ghouta in recent days. His three-year-old son was not so fortunate.

The (world) should have mercy on these children and women because they have nothing to do with the fighting,” Abu Abdallah said. “If they want to fight, let them go fight on the frontlines. But why are they bombing us?” Syrian troops and their allies have blockaded Eastern Ghouta since 2013. It is the only remaining major rebel enclave near the Syrian capital.

Exclusive report: Russia supplying fuel to North Korea

We exclusively revealed that Russian tankers have supplied fuel to North Korea on at least three occasions in recent months by transferring cargoes at sea, providing an economic lifeline to the secretive Communist state.

The sales of oil or oil products from Russia, the world’s second biggest oil exporter and a veto-wielding member of the United Nations Security Council, breach U.N. sanctions. The transfers in October and November indicate that smuggling from Russia to North Korea has evolved to loading cargoes at sea since we reported in September that North Korean ships were sailing directly from Russia to their homeland.
