Reuters ahead key news on South Korea-Japan quarrel

Reuters was ahead of the competition by more than half a minute with South Korea’s announcement on August 22 that it would not renew its intelligence-sharing agreement with Japan, escalating a diplomatic spat between the two neighboring countries. Reuters had also been ahead by three minutes with Japan’s July 1 announcement that it would tighten restrictions on technology exports to Korea.
