Reuters first to report President Abdelaziz Bouteflika postponing Algeria’s presidential election

Reuters was first to report that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has postponed an election set for April, after bowing to mass demonstrations against his 20-year-long rule and promising a transition to new leadership. Veteran diplomat Lakhdar Brahimi and protest groups are expected to join a conference planning Algeria’s future, and Bouteflika said the group should try to finish its work by the end of 2019.
