Reuters first to report Southwest Gas nears Questar deal after Buffett lost out

Reuters was first to report that Southwest Gas Holdings was in advanced talks to acquire Questar Pipeline Company, a gas transportation and storage business of Dominion Energy Inc that Warren Buffett tried to buy. Southwest Gas confirmed the $2 billion deal two days later, defying calls from activist investor Carl Icahn not to go ahead with it.
