When a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, Reuters was on the ground to provide extensive video coverage to its clients.

Reuters delivered the first video footage of the devastation and was more than two hours ahead with the first live video, just as European customers were preparing their morning news cycle. Reuters continued its extensive coverage of the event and its aftermath by filing 64 videos within the first 12 hours alone.

In addition to delivering the first video overall, Reuters led on key elements including the first video from Syria and live drone shots showing the devastation.

Reuters coverage of the earthquake has also included substantial picture and text reports of the ongoing rescue efforts and the aftermath in Syria and Turkey.
