Reuters coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 is underway, with extensive reporting planned for events surrounding the international competition. Reuters has deployed its full global sports team across text, video and photos to Qatar to cover the events, with every language spoken by the 32 competitors represented on the Reuters team.

Running the duration of the FIFA World Cup, which runs from November 20 to December 18, 2022, Reuters will provide its customers daily coverage from training camps and sessions, media briefings, fan events in Qatar and general news surrounding the tournament. Select markets in Asia will also have access to match highlight and post-match news conference coverage.

Additionally, Reuters will provide live coverage from “home base” fan zones globally, capturing the cheers and tears of fans in their home countries.

“What happens on the pitch is a fraction of the World Cup experience. Reuters will tell multiple perspectives of the World Cup by leveraging our global team of journalists, adding depth in a way only we can deliver,” said Ossian Shine, Reuters Global Editor for Sports, Entertainment and Lifestyle.

Reuters coverage surrounding the tournament follows comprehensive pre-event reporting of World Cup-related events in Qatar and in participating countries, team profiles, training camps, friendly matches and team arrivals in Qatar.

Reuters clients can find daily coverage plan notes updated by Reuters Sports Desk throughout the tournament on Reuters Connect.
