Reuters exclusively reported that the U.S. government is expected to extend a reprieve for 90 days given to Huawei Technologies that lets the Chinese firm buy supplies from U.S. companies so that it can service existing customers. The banks were named in documents released on August 20 after a court hearing in Canada, where Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou is fighting extradition to the U.S. on bank fraud charges.
