Reuters reveals Amazon turns to Chinese firm on U.S. blacklist for thermal cameras

Reuters was the first to reveal that Amazon has bought cameras to take temperatures of workers during the coronavirus pandemic from a firm the United States blacklisted over allegations it helped China detain and monitor Uighurs and other Muslim minorities. Following an exclusive that Amazon had begun using thermal cameras to curb the spread of the coronavirus in its warehouses, Reuters reported that Amazon had spent close to $10 million to acquire thermal cameras from China’s Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd.
