Reuters ahead with key alerts on Bank of Canada rate decision

Reuters won nearly all major alerts with news from the Bank of Canada Governor Macklem’s press conference on Sept 10th. The rate decision was the first of which the new governor, Tiff Macklem, had complete oversight. He had taken up his new position on the very day of the previous rate decision. The post-rate decision press conference was only his second. Markets were looking for any hint from the bank about its first-ever QE program, announced in March when the pandemic hit, and had not heard much from Macklem about the dollar before this event.
